Statement of Purpose

An Urban Waters Report Card (UWRC) is under development in Tennessee by a working group of MS4s. The goal for use of the UWRC is to provide MS4s a means to track improvements in streams from their stormwater management and stream rehabilitation efforts. A grading scale for the UWRC will span from A to F based on an assessment scheme that demonstrates the incremental enhancement of a stream’s condition. Such a scheme will be more informative to the local stakeholders including the MS4 professional and administrative staff, political leaders, and the public than the state’s 303(d) list. A number of categories are to be considered for grades, and a composite watershed grade will be provided. This web page will be the portal for Tennessee stakeholders to use and view graded watershed based on UWRC.
